Taylor ready for India challenge (Clicks : 383)

England star Sarah Taylor has revealed her excitement about having the chance to demonstrate her skills her to a global television audience when her side takes on India at North Sydney Oval on Tuesday. The clash of the two undefeated sides in Group B will be broadcast across the world to over 200 countries and Taylor hopes the highly anticipated match between two of the superpowers of the women’s game will demonstrate the quality of the sport. “I am excited about the game. We had a pretty successful summer against them last year but that doesn’t mean anything now and we are obviously looking for a win,” said Taylor. “You always want to raise the profile of women’s cricket and to raise the profile all over the world. We would always like to be on television every game we play, but India-England is a big game and hopefully we will do women’s cricket justice.” Despite a 4-0 series win over India at home last year, the wicketkeeper/batter believes that Jhulan Goswami’s side will prove a tough test for England who have not lost an ODI match within the last year. “India is a good side and we have never doubted that. We are focussed only on our game and we know if we play to our best we can be unbeatable and we just want to play at the top of our game,” she said. Taylor, who along with Caroline Atkins, has formed one of the most potent opening partnerships in the women’s game, admits that she is looking forward to the battle against Jhulan Goswami and Rumeli Dhar, but that she is very much focussed on playing her own game. “I try not to think of them as who they are, but instead I try and focus on the white ball coming at and I want to put it into certain areas. That is my approach to facing different bowlers,” she said
